So I had the option of a stock (used) ignition switch or an aftermarket one. I'm going to try the aftermarket one first. It's a three position with only three terminals on the back. It may have came with a wiring diagram but I've lost it already if it did.
I stuck the multimeter on it and got the following readings (I don't know the symbol for continuity so I just used = and ≠):
Key 1 is OFF
Key 2 is RUN
Key 3 is LIGHTS ONLY?
If that is right then can I assume that power goes to Terminal 1, lighting to Terminal 2 and ignition to Terminal 3?
Does anyone actually use a Lights Only position? I can't think of any reason to use it.
