thanks for all the info everyone....truly appreciated!!! but....I posted incorrectly....so sorry read his note wrong and he left to work a double so wasn't around to correct matters....should have said... will an RH10 head work on a 1973 850 that has a RH4 head. like I posted this may as well be Greek to me....just have to be more careful of my typos!!

And yes, again. In fact the RH4 is known to be "leaky" compared to the RH10.

Damn. We have two RH4's. :p

Thanks again for all info...which is being forwarded to the "garage". no apologies needed Foxy....I may learn from all of the comments!!

My 75 Mk III 850 RH4 has 32mm intake ports. My 73 850 RH10 has 30mm intake ports. So you may need to find some carb spacers 32mm to 30mm. Phil Sorry L.A.B. Im a little slow today

The manifold part number 062819 that I listed appears to be incorrect, as that is the 30-28.5mm manifold.

I have not (as yet) found a part number for a 32-30mm manifold.

Mis matched too big a carb-manifold for the smaller head ports in my first break in needs, required me to make a make shift crude rubber/fiber composite gasket I didn't bother to clean up the over hang into air flow, to be so very very Surprised by how responsive and powerful through over red line than any proper matched combo I tried since. So good I'm going to try in again - small port head on Combat CR and 2S cam and tuned up 2-1 headers. So good only way I can conccieve to get more power is bigger engine with boost and anti-detonation fluids. Ask Dynodave what his key feature was to make most power on dyno tests at a rally some years back.

Well guys...
I have an RH10 head laying on my bench. I just removed it from my '74 project.
The intake ports are clearly 30mm. So I went to carb set that are sitting in a box just as they came off the head. The manifolds were still bolted to the carbs. The available side (toward the head) measured 30mm. So I took it off and the carb side clearly measured 32mm! As do the carbs of course.

OK, I found it-eventually, as it doesn't appear to be listed in any of the usual Commando parts books or AN website parts diagrams!

GENERIC NORTON PART
This item is not related to a specific model of bike
PART NUMBER: 065196
DESCRIPTION: CARB.INLET MANIFOLD (32/30mm.)
PRICE: £41.50

That's very interesting. That price is each?!!! Ouch!

I am curious, I don't have a 30mm 750 manifold sitting around to check, but I assume it would bolt between the 32mm Amal and the RH10 head. If that were so, it would not be that hard with some sandpaper and patience to create your own taper.

I don't think you need to creat a big taper. We are talking about a 1mm (.040) ridge to relieve to smooth out any disruption of flow. Sand paper? I don't know about that, but it is possible. Purhaps a dremel with a sanding drum would be more applicable.

C'mon guys, we all know that a Fullauto Technologies head is at the top of the tree. By far.

I know this guy.................

Proof is in the puddin' bowl. And I've got as much proof as you want.

And you'd have to count your rings, and probably use a branch manifold, and leaf springs!

Woodnt last long as it would be rooted in no time!!
