I have a few hundred miles on my bike after installing all new vernier isolastics and they seem to have settled in. I'm gonna do an adjustment and I have a couple questions...

Does anybody actually measure clearances, or do you just count "holes"? Or do you move them in 1/2-hole increments until it all feels good?

When setting clearances do you still have to pry the drive unit over to one side? If yes, then where do you pry to get the rear over to the right? With shimmed iso's I pried against the right side of frame and the swingarm, but you can't get ther on the left.

Thanks

I slacken the Iso bolts and give them a gentle tap to release any tension. I then turn them in until they pinch up and then slacken back about 1/2 a turn. This will vary with age and wear (the Iso, not me) so then I torque up the bolts and take the bike for a ride to see how they feel. I also give the Iso a squirt with Teflon lube spray. I repeat this with further adjustment if its not quite smooth at 3,000rpm. PS - I'm also using a Mk3 spring head steady and found that a great improvement all round on the 850.

Just adjusted mine a few weeks ago. I found that 2 holes out (0.012 inches in theory) gave me too much vibration but 3-4 holes out seems just about right. I believe Norvil recommends a half turn out which is 6 holes.

I got the iso kit from an eBay vendor, so I don't know who actually made them. The vendor hand wrote "3-4 holes" on the instruction sheet where it had said 1 hole for adjustment. Mine is set for 2 holes in the back, 2-1/2 on the front and it feels fine for vibration but I'm thinking of tightening them a bit for better handling.

Anybody know what the thread pitch is on the adjusters?
