Adding Avitar to profile & pictures to postings

How do you add an Avatar to your profile?
How do you add pictures to your postings?
Checking the FAQ's didn't really help.
Do I need to contact Jerry Doe for permission?

Open your User Contol Panel (top left) > Profile >Edit Avatar Then type or paste in the avatar image URL (note the specified image size limit) then >Submit.

No.

so you can't post pictures unless you upload your pictures to photobucket?

It doesn't have to be Photobucket, although that is one of the most popular image hosting sites and also one of the easiest to use, but it isn't possible to upload images directly to accesnorton from your computer.

I had to me hand held on this too, ugh.

Ya take a photo, dump it in ya 'puter then up load it to one of the free public photo places on the web, Flicker is common one so is Webshots, then to post here tag the image icon over head of the text here then grab the direct URL off the photo site or r click the image and cope image location then paste it in middle space of the image icons of this site. At least if in public stie you can just grab the URL in browse and make us open it to display.
