Took the beast out yesterday for a quick spin after I rode my son's 125 to the garage for a tyre and sprockets etc (his new beast). The old duffer was running sick, but it cleared t's throat after much popping and banging (the plugs were sooty and I cleaned them) and it was off up the bypass for a thrash....
I limped home as the bike was running rough, popping etc and felt like it was running out of fuel. The weather was foggy and blooming cold in case it was relevant to the experts out there reading this.
The 'only thing' I have done to it lately was fit fuel filters and new fuel lines, plus it had to have a new float (i have a single mk 2, bought new last year) as the old one was full of petrol. The filters are on and pointing in the right direction, I haven't stripped the carb yet to check the new float as it was freezing and i had the hump!
I have a garage heater arriving today, and on Sunday night I will attck the thing. Might be a blocked petol lid, the carb, the filters (only fitted them as it is a new tank, to me anyway, and I didn't want the lining in the tank reacting with the petrol etc).
I will be buying a bike that works this coming new year, I'll keep this one for the summer and club runs as I am fond of it and when it's going it's good fun but it is a bugger when you get dressed up for the North pole and then the wotsit won't behave!
