Jordan, yes ya did ... I figure it will be easy to match the covers as my current Interstate tank is black. Just need to find an Interstate sidecover set at "reasonable" (gulp) price on fleabay. Might take awhile though, eh ? (Only reason I sold this set was to buy a Roadster set from Brent in "Fireflake Royal Blue", luv those gaudy metalflake 70's period colors ! )
Back to the thread though, I WOULD RECOMMEND not using the "zues" fastners for Roadster; and Interstate sidecovers as well .... period. The zues coming undone at the front is why so many Commandos lost the left side cover !!! (Happened to me even, a beautiful left side cover in "candy apple red". Zues fastner came undone (surprise!) ... and then the car behind me "ran over" my sidecover that had just fallen off ! BTW, all the scratches it had on it from falling off before; were now irrelevent.) Another fine example of Norton "quality enginnering", or lack thereof ... Finally learned my lesson though.
Anyway, since then I always use a 1/4 x 20 stainless steel bolt with nylon lock nut to hold the left sidecover on, never lost one since. Trust me as one who knows ... don't trust those zues fasteners !!! ( not without safety wire anyway ...)
As a final note, though they don't use zues fasteners (just plastic tabs) many, many, MANY, 1970s Honda left sidecovers suffered the same fate as the Norton left sidecovers, i.e. falling off while riding, then damaged, lost, ran over, or lost in a time space worm hole ... just like socks go a missing' in the dryer !!!
