Hi Guys,

I found a perfect paddock stand for my Mk3, made by Pit Bull. The stand is derived from a "Narrow" Pit Bull stand that the company modified at no cost. Pix are below.

As my bike frame has been lowered by 0.75 inch or so, the center stand operates but requires two stout people to get the bike up. This paddock stand is an easy one-man operation and raises the rear wheel an inch or so off the ground, is completely stable, and even allows for some limited front-to-back re-positioning of the bike. There is no interference with the silencers. The cost is $140 US.

Do you have a part number for your Commando stand? I went on the Pit Bull site and couldn't find it. Thanks.

Call Pit Bull and ask for Charley V. He has the same photos appearing on this post and will likely remember the "Norton Project"; I bought the stand 10 days ago.

Looks great. Not sure, but I think it's the same stand that I modified to work with my Manx. Glad to see that you worked it out.

I've used my Pitbull a great deal in challenging conditions and I can vouch that it's a very tough stand. I've seen others that are very flimsy in comparison.

Thanks Rick. I'm on the phone...

Nice!! Can you please show a close up pic of where the stand meets the bike? I may be able to modify a stand I already have. 8)

Nortasaki,

Close-up photos below. There is only 2.5" clearance between the outside of the swingarm and the silencer. The swingarm itself is 8.8-9.0 inches wide, depending on where you wish to lift it.

Hope this helps.

Nortasaki,

Here's a picture of the PitBull fitting. Keep in mind that mine is bolted on upside down and backwards because I use a set of fabricated plates that lift the bike by the spools under the shock mount. If you bolt the fitting the other way, the red rubber extension can be positioned under the swingarm to lift the bike.

Thanks guys, I'll have to see if I can make something work with my Harbor Frieght stand
