After waiting over 4 years for my 961 SE, I'm afraid it finally came too late for me. For personal reasons (health, lost my job) I would like to sell it, if I can get what I paid for it ($20k).
It is black with wire wheels, number 12 of 50, and came with the USD forks and radial mount Brembos. I also have the optional pipes from South Bay Norton. I picked it up 4 weeks ago and have 665 miles on it, so it still has 1 year 11 months warranty left.
I live in the SF Bay area in California and it would have to be picked up here, I would rather not have to ship it.
I will probably be putting it on the local Craigs List, but I thought I would let this group know about it first.
Please contact me off line with a message if you have any interest.

i would b interested in it but my order is for one w the carbon wheels. the fork upgrade and brake upgrade has me thinking tho. should I pull my deposit and skip the 6 or 7 month wait and have a bike now.... hhmmm

i believe that the US bound nortons started with a fresh number system. lord knows why. actually stuart would know, probably to make them more desirable.. lol SBNT is supposed to b getting all 50 of the 961 SE but from what can see: that could be bullshit, as the numbers on the bikes that showed up were from 10 - 16 as i recall. i saw 12 and 15 on the floor when was there. and this was the first shipment !! they talked about letting you pick the number you wanted to have on the plaque. perhaps that is it for the US models. everybody else in the states supposed get sports, or cafe’s or 2 seaters.

Interested in seeing pics of the # plate on the gauge cluster. 1 / 50.

I know 50 of the 200 go the the states (20 came to Canada) and you could choose a number (if it was still available) but the numbers for Canada were between 100 and 120.

Can you please post a picture?

Hi,

I tried to get a picture of the # plate this morning but it came out blurry, I will try again later.
In the meantime, I can tell you what it reads:

Commando 961 SE
USA 12 of 50

Here is my bike #112 (CANADA) I pick it up Friday :)

Hi,

I have decided to keep the bike, at least for a while longer. The bike causes me pain in my hip when I ride it, but I have ordered some taller handlebars to see if that fixes the problem. After I change the bars and I still can't ride it without hip pain, I will have to sell it then.

Hi, I'm new to the forum but read your post with interest as I had the same issue with my hips on the new 961 Cafe Racer. Given I have other sportbikes with more radical ergonomics that don't bother my hips, I diagnosed the problem to be the crappy stock seat with limited padding and being too wide. So, I had Corbin make me a custom seat while I waited and it solved the problem; however, IMO the footpegs would be better if moved more rearward, at least with the Cafe Racer.

The other strange thing about this, other than "out of 50" instead of 200, is, I understood that ALL SE models were that because they were all the same with the top end of everything, carbon package, polished engine covers, USD forks, special serial # that matches the bikes #, Nikisil guts.

So perhaps this is a new bread of SE's and not the same as the 200. What is your serial number? Mine ends in 112, does yours end in 012? Because I'm more than positive I seen a picture of SE # 12 from England and it looked just like mine #112

If I find the photo I'll post it.
