For sale forum (961)

I wondered if there is a 'for sale' forum for used 961 bits and bobs on this site.? If there is I can't find it, probably me being a bit dense, there are plenty of 'old' Commando bits for sale but maybe I haven't looked in the right places. If there isn't one do the members think it would be a good idea to start one.?

I think the for sale section is just that a for sale section
There's nothing saying it's for original "Norton commando" parts

I think you are opening up a can o worms that doesn't need opening
Just keep it "for sale"
How would you define modern?
Is a 2013 donnington Norton modern?
To some it'd be considered old
Where would you put a Norton rotary?
In the old or modern ?
If there were hundreds of adds per day then I think it'd be a good idea
It'd make things easier to find
But that's all IMO

I have nothing for sale at the moment, it was just a thought that kept ricocheting in my empty skull.

I agree with Baz, next will be a request for a Triumph for sale page, then a modern Triumph page, then BSA, then… you get the point… a for sale page for every category / page on the site.

Best to have one for sale page and make it clear to everyone where to look.

Yes it is confusing. That for sale classifieds section is an addon I purchased and I did loads of work to get it where it is. I have been kind of limited code wise what I can do with it. It’s been on my list to improve or replace it when I get time, whenever that is. I will probably re-do the whole thing.

Another thing on my mind is service intervals. I always forget when I do oil changes and other routine work and I never write it down and when I did write it down I lost it. I used to keep all my info in xls. I am going to create something online to remind me (and others can use it). So for example I do my oil change or whatever. I add the miles and other info what type of oil or whatever to database, then I add a future approx date to get an email to remind me. Been thinking about this for a while. I already got the domain to link to from here, it’s www.servicememo.com (nothing there yet)

What would a 2016 Commando SF and a 2016 Dominator Naked be worth?
Both are in better than new condition and both are fully optioned bikes.
Each bike has less than 500 miles on them.
Each bike has two tanks and 2 sets of exhaust.
Stored in a climate controlled garage since new.
Tanks were emptied of fuel after each ride.
Shoria batteries and chargers.
Looking to see what 961 owners would consider a fair selling price would be for each.

I know, I know, they’re Donington era bikes. But most Yanks don’t know the difference

Hi Voodooo , I am not an expert . I would not want to sell my bike for less than $13k USD and your Commando should be worth more . The Domi Naked should be worth even more maybe $20K to $25K or more because they are rare . Will you test the market soon ?

I’m considering selling them. They sit and I don’t enjoy them as they should. I haven’t ridden them in about 2 years maybe more.

Bad time to be selling unless you wanna give ‘em away.

Even here in the U.K. there are many used ones that have remained unsold for a looong time. Which would indicate that the ones that do sell are actually going for somewhat lower figures than those generally advertised for.

I also seen on instagram on the Norton page, they’re offering 0% interest on new 961.

Don't know about the US, but if you wait until Apr/May in the UK, it's WAY easier to sell
