850 frame distinguishing features

My 06-4140 60mm frame has the extended rear shock ears and is from Nov 73 build but 74 model year MK2A. It would not be the first time a supplier has introduced a change earlier especially if it was backwards and forwards compatible, but if that was the only change then it is odd the part number was not also changed.

It does look like the fitting of the extended shock plates may not have been the reason for the change of frame part number.
What's surprising is that 850 frame part numbers and extended shock mounts have been discussed here several times without this coming to light. :?
