Hello,

my Veglia speedo (1973 "Made in France" 09190919900) of my 850 gave up today. Now I am looking for a replacement. My question: Is there a difference in the cups ? If I want to change over to Smith type, which Smith speedo and tach would fit into my 850 cups ?

Thanks !

Regards,
Ralf

No, but each Smiths instrument requires two 06-1281 'Extension bolts' in order to fit the deeper '73-on black pods/cups. These extension bolts are the same items as the points plate pillar screws.

That depends, as Smiths made an awful lot of different speedos. Presumably, you want a km/h item?

Thanks for the fast response.

A km/h speedo is not essential for me, but it should be an original Commando instrument.
Could I take e.g. SSM 3001/09 (SSM 3001/10) speedo and a RSM 3003/15 tacho ?

Yes, all three are standard '71-'74 Commando instruments.

OK - thank you. I just sent my speedo to a repair service. Maybe that it only has to be cleaned, because there has been pressed a lot of grease into the housing by the cable.
