hey guys - a bit new to nortons here....have been reassembling an abandoned project the last little while - had the clutch plates out for cleaning and whatnot - but not much else - but the engine back in the frame and connected the clutch cable...had all kinds of slack....then noticed the clutch adjusting screw on the left side was only like 1 turn in...in my experience thats way too little - and would explain the slack...wondering if anyone has any tips as to where to look?

thanks!

ian

How much slack ?
If you wind the adjusting screw in, will it take up the slack ?

As detailed in the manual, for setting up the clutch.....

You may need to check your clutch arm and reset it on the other side. Pull off the access cover on the gearbox and have a look-see. It could have slipped down cause the rod to protrude out the left side too far.

First thing you need is a manual so you can learn how it's set up, then read all the threads on it. The Norton clutch is a thing of joy when set up right but will break your arm if not... Good luck.
