Hello. I am sorry to be clogging up this forum lately but I have yet another question: Where should I be able to locate the engine id numbers for a 1965 Atlas 750? It is number 111573. Thank you very much. Jay.

Its not so much that you are 'clogging up' this forum, more that not so many topics are getting questions at the moment.
Forums thrive on chit-chat, so chit-chat away....

By your question, do you mean see lists of years of Norton production ?
There are several websites that list Nortons numbers.
e.g.
http://www.bmh.com.au/norton/index.php?id=modelnum
Your bike would seem to be a late 1964.
In the US, that may have been titled in 1965, if it took a while to sell out of the showroom.

Note that such lists don't entirely all agree, precise Norton numbers in some years are a little unclear.
This has something to do with the Norton manufacturing year ran August to August,
but the numbers sometimes start with 1st Jan count.
Its also possible that low production levels were being hidden ?

I was wondering where they physically stamped the numbers on the engine and if they marked it in more than one area. Thanks for the help.

All Nortons had the engine number on the left side of the alloy crankcase, just under where the cylinder bolts on.
Engine and frame numbers should match.

There may be another set of numbers stamped around the crankcase somewhere,
but they were factory numbers only to ensure matching crankcase halves stayed matching.
