Rebuilding the front brake master cylinder ..purchased a kit and piston and found out the inside of the cylinder is pitted in the wrong spot(so it would leak..) so..apart from ordering a new/used good cylinder which I am trying to find....is there a way to hone out and still use the stock parts?...or is the re-sleeve and re-piston the way to go....just looking for ideas....

The master brake cylinder frequently corrodes. If you take a dental pick and run it gently inside the bore, the healthy aluminum is unaffected, and the corroded areas will reveal pits and wormy veins. Without "exploring", the surface often looks just fine.

This is a perfect opportunity to sleeve the master cylinder and get a better front brake out of the deal. I have sleeved three stock master cylinders by now, and am very happy with the results.
Madass has a reasonably priced kit that sounds like a good diy solution.
Andover can supply master cylinder that looks stock, but is manufactured with a smaller bore:

Some folks will tell you to bin the original master and buy new style replacement, ala CNW. I like to keep the bike looking stock, so that was never an option for me.
