I have a 72 Norton 750 Commando Interstate w/ Combat engine. I go it from my father who purchased it from the original owner in 1978. The bike to my knowledge is all original as it has been in storage for about 20 years. I have finally decided it was time to get it back on the road. Drained and replaced the oils and it fired up with little effort. I know about the restoration process as i am also int the middle of a frame off restro of a 1970 Pontiac GTO, but documented info on GM cars is a little easer to find. The VIN on the bike data plate matches the VIN on the engine, but there is no build date stamped on the plate, is this a common thing that was missed?
Thanks in advance as I am sure I will have many more questions.
