Installed the front wheel and noticed a 1/4 gap between the dust shields and the fork stanchions. I looked in the parts manual and i don't have items 7,11,and 15 My installation is the same as the norton repair manual. should i just tighten up the slack. Thanks Steve

Duh nope - if ya do it'd put a bend/bind on the sliders as stanchions would no longer be parallel. So as traditional you are in a hurry up and wait for parts limbo till after holiday vendor break. It'd be a whole bunch easier to put front on w/o those do dads, so I've been sorely tempted to. I just put an anvil in Trixie's tail end milk crate to tip front up to tackle gaiter replacement and unclog the rust fouled brake pads. Sure wish there was a way to hold these spacers to the hub/bearings to install.

thanks hobot your right not much more before its running. no sense hurrying now. Is there a spacer that goes under the dust shield or does it go next to the stanchion.

Wide flange spacer goes on LH/non brake side and the cylinder one on the brake side. Its wise it to go completely over bolt by bolt nut by nut or might screw up like me leaving a bottom case bolt out and not nipping up one of the Z plate to frame bolts. Ran just fine no leaks or rattles prior to me discovering these. Oh yeah also the crank end nut backed off into primary case on 5th time out a week ago.
