One thing he did note when I looked at the bike again was that when the bike sits it drains the battery quickly. So he just disconnects the battery. I havent looked through AC yet to see why this problem might be occuring. Does this sound like a quick fix or a world of electrical hurt? lol.

Probably just the blue capacitor used for batteryless starts is leaking current, they breakdown internally after a few years. Just about to check mine as my battery is losing voltage when connected but does not if I take a lead off.

Thanks! So far everything I have read points to that for sure!

He counter offered at $9000 a week ago and I held to my offer of 8K. No word back for a week and he came back to me and said "I’ve thought about this and think the price is low but not unreasonable" and has accepted my offer of $8K. Now I have to decide if i want to pull the trigger.
You made the offer of $8,000.oo. I think that you have already pulled that trigger.
BTW, bike looks pretty nice.

Good-lookin bike, there, newbie.. hope it works out for ya.
A decent steel tank and paint job seems like the foremost issue, but it'll be a lot of fun right away, even without those things.

Since he accepted your offer, you are legally (and ethically) committed to purchasing the bike.

Hah! That's the bike I looked at last fall when I started my Commando search! Was asking same price last year. Noticed it still up on Craigslist this week and I popped a link up to it in the forsale list here.

I shied away due to asking price and general concern over Combat histories.
If you get her, let me know...I assume you're nearby to Vancouver, we should meet up.

I would not be too concerned about that weld. There are a lot of motorcycles being ridden around with welded cases.

Yeah Right, I guess the Seller will take this one to Judge Judy?

Ethanol-laced fuel is the bane of fiberglass Norton tanks. I have one that has never has corn juice inside and functions perfectly, but it’s hard to find non-alcohol pump gas.
Keep the ‘glass tank, but get a steel one if you want to be able to ride it anywhere.
