71 side stand

I still have the nub on the frame. I see the Bonneville Shop has a stand for $75.00
After all I have read, not sure I trust the nub on the frame. I would sure hate to come back and find it laying on the side. Trust the nub?

The original side stand for '71 (P/N 06-2001) is not what Bonneville shop is selling. Most dealers, including AN, sell the later model stand for the '71 model. I don't believe this will fit on the original pivot stud on the '71 frame. You will need to weld the lug on the outside of the frame to fit it.

I don't know of any dealers that sell a new production 06-2001 stand. And for good reason. If that clip fails, the stand drops to the pavement, held by the spring, and bounces back to the underside.

I have never actually seen a '71 stand. I suspect most people threw them in the trash. If anyone has one, maybe they can post up a photo. Both my '71s came to me without a sidestand.
