Hey guys, Looking for a little help on the aprox value of one of my bikes. Since I rather not do the Ebay thing, I need to put a number on it... I am really not up on Norton values, and I ended up with a couple Commandos as part of a purchase of a couple project cars & parts.

'71 Fastback, 42k on the odometer, runs and rides good, Mikuni conversion (have original carbs too), electronic ignition, fresh fluids, plugs and battery after coming out of extended storage. Decent unrestored bike, but not perfect by any means... paint has some blistering on the tank, seat has a repair on the left lower rear corner, and the bright work needs polishing, ect...

'71 Commando Fastback value?

Someone here will buy it. I'll give you 5K. Where is it?

Oh, man don't tell me that. I had a 50 BSA B33 in Monterey while I was in the Army Language School in '63. Drove it to Santa Barbara and Yosemite. If it were mine, I'd hold out for about 8-10K if you have good records. If not, it's a crap shoot, no one knows what's inside.

Follow ebay prices; I think this is sorta' the universal pricing guide for most things these days. I'm surprised at the prices I see on some of the bikes there, usually how high they are.

e-bay prices azre the daftest thing one can imagine
if some cunt desides he really need an item (lets say a washer ,only fitted between that ultra-rare 1953 commando magneto and the injector ) he simply bids until he gets it ,
nothing wrong here , but then another c...t thinks all those washers are sought after and prices go accordingly
prices are being pushed up by that ebay thing because people do no longer bother to go to jumbles etc , they simply stay in their comphy armchairs and buy from there
of coarse they no not see or hear or feel the bike and if it turns out to be not so COOL after all , they re-sell with a bit of profit of coarse to another c..t in an armchair
in the end the worst bike is worth 5 times its value

congrats to not going that route and prefer selling to an enthosiast , numberfive

Yep! thats how it works. Some people just will not be out bid, it gets personal :!:

Bugger all , common as mud . Send it to me . :D , ahem Other than insurance purposes ( 10 Grande . take it or leave it . Buy Back , trashed or stolen recoverd $ 2000 as it would them require assembly from its sum components , After being dissasembed. Minimum , $ 8000 Labour & Parts ) But Thats its COMERCIAL value . or , actually . COST .

The VALUE you CANT put a figure on , as it in itself is unique and could never be replaced by a identical machine .

Id figure its worth a couple of Porsches , At least a rolls royce , 1/2 a dozen mercedes or a good kenworth or Mack , enjoyment value wise. To anyone who has a dgree of control over there emotions and isnt intrested in things of no substance .

I'd agree that the real number is between $5k - $6k on eBay.

I'll let those with more time on their hands tell you everything that isn't '71.

unless you wanna sell it in the old continent in that case prices can go mad. (weird isn't it -that a UK built bike costs more in it's home country?)
in the Uk I reckon is 5-6k POUNDS.
In Italy I've recently seen some crazy crazy prices -like 9-12K euros.

I would guess it is a 1970 model sold and titled in 1971. Of course neither a 1970 nor 1971 would have a disc brake.

Nevertheless, with proper advertising and time, a price of $5-$6K is not unreasonable.

bike sold for $5100 and some change on the bay

Should have taken DogT's offer. By the time all the eBay fees are paid he got considerably less!

no doubt - while ebay is a RIPOFF - offers on a net forum are also pretty much worthless - always comes down to show me the money
