Here in Toronto someone took an interest in my 76 parked on the street and introduced himself next day wearing a black Norton T-Shirt . Dylan , his 68 green fastback is in his cottage just north of Cobourg , Ont . Canada . Does not run he says and needs a new paint job he says . Well , it's been sitting in the cottage for 20 or so yrs. Let's see where this goes . Wants to sell , but doesn't much . Drives a Triumph . Has never used a forum or club . Got his number .

I found a1969 incomplete basket case Commando S down my block while walking my dog. No papers. The guy was a hoarder. I should of just kept walking. we went rumaging in his garage and found some vital components so gave him a grand and me and the wife pushed it to my garage. I got an extra lower end with it. the serial number does not show up an any database so feel I could get it back on the road. restoration is ongoing.

Saw a 69 Fastback on local kijiji ad. Basket case, asking $2500 CDN. Says it need $6000 more in parts to complete...so id say budgetvat least $10k over purchase price.

i recommend you title it before spending a bunch of money.

Generally not a big issue in most Canadian jurisdictions...the registration serves as what is called the title in the USA. Generally as long as it has a signed bill of sale and meets applicable rule in place for the vintage, it can be transferred to buyer/registered for road use again.

Too late and Im ok with it. having a good time piecing it together. I can always put it in the livingroom as art.
Given the age of vehicle, and the fact that you have a written bill of sale (you DO have a bill of sale, don't you?) someone who specializes in getting vehicles titled should be able to get that bike legal with a small monetary investment. I used to have the name of someone, but don't anymore. If all else fails, join the Antique Motorcycle Association of America and post the question on the forum. Someone will know

Just looked at a rusty Triumph T140 chopper , abandoned , no ownership , the Italian seller said ownership no problemo .

In Ontario I'd suggest getting a UVIP from the nearest Service Ontario office if you are seriously thinking of buying it.That way you are only out $20 and you know there are no liens or stolen reports. After that it's relatively easy to get an ownership.

I'm not serious about picking it up . Too many if 's . Rust , siezure , huge Harley rear wheel .
What is a UVIP ?
The seller knows all my vintage motorbike pals in Toronto . I was the first invited to view it in the back of a food factory .

Used Vehicle Information Package. It checks that the VIN is legal and if there are any known financial liens etc. basically all the known history including previous owners.
