4 wheeled motorbike?

Yes it was the three wheelers I meant, very motorbike but very pricey at £34,000 and shame its a Harley engine.

It‘s not HD, it’s S&S, same as in the Hesketh 24 etc, and a bloody good lump !

The Card brothers own the JAP name and rights, got it from their Dad, I think his name was Alex. He developed a very slightly updated version of a big JAP twin, there were talks between the Card Brothers and Morgan to at least offer JAP engine as an after market ‘off road use only’ kind of thing, but I think it came to naught. Big shame.

Thanks Nigel ... Its just the S&S engine doesnt look quite right to my critical eye but I dare say if this JAP project comes to owt it will make forone very very expensive toy.. I suppose there will be tuning bits available forthe S&S lump and it is well proven .
My other old age dream conveyance ,a black shadow and steib would definately be beyond financial reach .

I agree Mike, the S&S engine doesn’t look ‘right’ like a JAP engine does. But, it’s much more powerful, torquey, oil tight, and reliable. Plus it’s actually legal from an emissions perspective.

Back to the topic of this thread, my vote for a fun, affordable 4 wheel motorbike is the Honda S2000. 240bhp from a normally aspirated 2l that revs to over 9,000rpm. It has the sweetest manual six speed box you can imagine too. Great fun, and actually now going up in value.
