Well done TVS, four holes = four screws. Pity Mr G. couldn't count ,only two screws in four holes in my old 961 . How difficult is it to drill and tap two holes and add a couple of extra screws to finish the job off properly so it doesn't work loose over time . Such a simple fix as was many of the problems he foisted upon us unsuspecting 961 owners with. By the way it's the gear change bracket if your not sure.

Hopefully the rear brake pedal is similarly updated. @Stu Bodycote has started to strip a TVS Norton engine, and has already noted a few improved components. It is on Facebook, but I'm sure he will note them here as well.

Sorry, still only two screws in the plate, but only two holes as well. The thinking must be better to loose a back brake than gears.😆😆

Hi Peebee , Funny thing is my Nomber 2014 Donington 961 has 4 screws on the gear change side already. The brake side only has two screws which I would like to upgrade to 4 screws.

I replace the two ungraded stainless screws with hitensile. Never seen a problem there after.
And yes, only two on the brake on the tvs salvage that I bought too. Crazy that a safety critical issue wasn't addressed. Same icon, different standard 👀

I don’t remember ever hearing of either side becoming loose or falling off! Have there been many reports?

Worth checking if there has been of course.

Both sides on my old 961 came loose, maybe due to the mileage I had done , if my memory serves me right I drilled and tapped a couple of extra holes for security.

Got ya! Worth pulling em off and checking then - see how many screws Donny may or may not have put in - and how secure. 👍
