I am installing a new harness and sub harness. One of the connectors on the main harness does on correspond to any connector on the sub harness. the others fit and the wire colors line up when plugged in. On the one that does not fit, the main harness has 6 pins the sub has 4. There is something I am not getting I guess.

Tks

Apart from the three main plugs, I would expect there to be a 4-pin plug in the main harness section that connects to the ignition sub-harness (which if it has electronic ignition you may have to make or alter yourself to suit the ignition if not already done).
The wires should be white/pink (unused), white/purple (also unused if electronic ignition), white/yellow and red.

There should also be a 6-pin plug in the headlamp harness in that area that plugs into the console bulb sub-harness section.
These are green/red, green/white, blue/white, red, white/brown and green.

If these are not the ones then we need more information.

Yes, the plug on the harness has those colors. I guess I need the ignition sub harness..
Thanks again

If you are fitting an electronic Ignition you may not need it, from memory I took a feed from the white yellow and the rest of the wires came with ti EI [my case Pazon Altair]

One note for anyone thinking of making the ignition sub-harness is that there are other wires which don't run through the plug, also some made ones have bullet connectors instead of the plug.

When the plugs have been joined together there should be a metal clip that prevents them being pulled apart, however, these may not always be available so the plugs can be taped together if required.

Do you know if the connectors and clips are available anywhere? When I rebuilt my factory harness, I misplaced one of the clips and also wanted to replace one of the harness connectors but couldn't find them for sale.

The Lucas Rist 4,6 and 6 pin connectors are available from LP Williams.

British Wiring may also have them.

I don't know about a current supplier for the clips.
They are also sold under the same Triumph part number 06-6139.
