Well finally made a deal on the 750 where so many provided lots of feedback. I'm bringing home in a couple days. I do plan to completely take apart and maintain as close as possible an original look. So that means I need 2 carbs. The bike has a single Amal, I think 932, but I want 2 Amals. I see there are rebuilts out there as well as new. What do you guys recommend I go - new or rebuilt? Did the 750 come with 930 or 932. Where can I get the correct manifolds? I will also need new exhaust and wheels. Given the fact I want to maintain a very close to original look what would brand and vendor would you recommend for the new exhaust and rims? I won't be afraid to spend extra for quality. Lastly, for now anyway, any experiences with chrome platers?
Thanks!

Round up a manual and eventually a parts book. In the meantime spend some time at Old Britts web site:

You can answer a lot of questions by comparing parts diagrams for the different years. Everything from what thread a bolt has to what kind of carbs the bike came with. And of course it starts to give you an idea as to what you should expect to pay for those parts.

I don't know where you are located and a plating service near where you live probably makes sense. But I have used Queen City Plating in Mukilteo Washington and have been very happy with them.

If you can make the bike run, I would go out and ride it a bit before I tore it down. But that is just me!

Congrats on your purchase, enjoy!
