1970 needle jet size

I'm slowly restoring a 1970 Commando S. Does anyone know why the "S" carbs require .107 needle jets vs the .106 jets used in other Commandos? What are the consequences of using .106 needle jets in these 930 Amals? Please advise.

Hi Bill,

I think the difference was the free flowing mufflers of the S type. Try the 106 jets and if they don't perform well go to the 107.

I think David has the right idea. With my not-so-free-flowing mufflers (and our mile-high altitude) I'm running 105 needle jets. 106 was too rich...
