Taking advantage of the Easter break I started yesterday to replace the Rocket 3.
It was at Christmas that I had all the parts ready.
All newly painted, original hardware all galvanised, rims rechromed with new stainless spokes, etc.
Only the engine has yet to review, but I have no hurry, otherwise the game ends too soon.
I'm not encountering great difficulty even if it is my first time  with a Rocket 3.
I lose a lot of time to recognize what nuts and bolts and studs serve; Unfortunately all the hardware is returned by galvanizing all together mixed; I am going to attempt and to exclusion but eventually I can find their right place.
Ciao
Piero

There is a Three Stooges movie, in which they repair a 1939 Mercury. All the bits of the motor were laying on the floor of the garage. One of the idiots said 'quick, the owner is coming'. So they got a big coal shovel, scooped up all the motor bits and chucked them into the engine bay, and slammed the bonnet. Got in the car, turned the key and it started. If you put all your bits into a cement mixer and run it for a while, you might tip out an assembled motor ?

By Golly , ' rusty pile of junk ' indeed . :x :? , :o Seems to have polished up alright . :D

you might have noticed the pictures in the first paragraph / post ARNT materialiseing .

" Works triple it is, but unusual in that it is a Small Heath-built Rocket 3, built not long before the merging with Meriden. Steenson retired at the pits at the end of lap 3 with gearbox woes, while Bob Heath on the sister bike finished fifth behind Uphill, Williams, Pickrell and Dickie. Info from the TR3OC mag Triple Echo.. "

I had a Rocket 3, but I thought it a bit heavy, and underpowered, and not good handling.
So I modified it a bit:

I had the same realisation with the Trident and came up with this:

That's got mirrors and indicators... Ape-hangers and a padded seat... its practically a Goldwing...!

But that OK... assuming you're a girl...?!?!

I could get to liking that red bike, except a bit too much tail section...

Otherwise, VERY nice indeed!
