I had a biology teacher in high school with a Boss 302. He would compete with the Plymouth Duster and a Cougar with a 428 Cobra Jet in it for longest burnout. All 3 could burn the rubber completely off the belts.
The Boss 302 was the best looking of the 3.
A 427 side oiler I built...not exactly in line with the single 4-bbl mandate.
Sounds like a very cool teacher

Along those same lines, my Driver Training car was a 69 Caprice, 2 door with a 427, Bucket Seats and Floor Shifter......Auto
Yup....... In those days Driver Training was sponsored by the High Schools and regular teachers taught it for extra $$.
I had all kinds of questions about the car from the very beginning.
I'm always early so one day he shows up and spots me staring, and then lights em up right there in the High School parking lot.

So cool, and I'm thinking, Is that part of the instruction...

Well Maybe, there were three students in the car, 2 in the back, the driver and of course him.
One day while I'm behind the wheel, he says turn here and go on the freeway.
It was Long on ramp, he says, open it up son.... So I did....

A very fun course... Unfortunately I never had him as a regular Teach..
