13" Rear shocks with 3" travel

So far only one member has used 3" travel and approved. Concours suggests that 3" will work without rubbing the fender. So now I am going to offer 3" travel Ikon rear shocks for Commandos. I'm using 3" travel shocks on my featherbed now. If the tire doesn't rub the fender then I can't think of any reason anyone should have shocks with less than 3" travel. I'm also going to offer a 2.5" travel modification for those who want to match the stock length - this modification can be removed to restore them to 3" travel. It makes no sense that Ikon should offer only a 2" travel shock for Commandos as their standard option if a 3" shock will work.

To achieve the extra travel are the overall length of the shocks longer???.... if they are, when i tried fitting slightly longer shocks the cross shaft at the front collides with the oil filter

While we're on the subject...Is anyone using the Ikons with the adjustable damping? Pricey upgrade...worth it? Necessary?
Yes, define pricey, only you can answer if it's worth it, what you're riding skills are, versus perceived
riding skills, realistic usage versus perceived usage… Only you can answer that question. I've had them for 11 years, a huge upgrade, and absolutely allows you to go deeper into the"go to jail" speeds zone.
Necessary you ask? Is this some kind of joke…? Clearly they are not… You can buy EMGO and ride the bike… You can keep the 55 year old stuff and ride the bike…

Want

Need

Age old dilemma.
