Ikons usually come with 2" travel for Commandos and I'm wondering if everyone would prefer 2.5" travel as with original stock shocks (fender clearance?). Also, what is prefered - Chrome or black bodies with the opposite color springs?

Ikon rear shocks 2" or 2.5" travel prefered?

I put Ikons on mine 2 years ago and 2.5 " would be better. I am about to buy the softer springs, because the rear end is a bit harsh. Feels better with a light person on the back. Chrome body, black springs for me. Graham

I have a pair fitted with chrome bodies , black springs . They are on max. preload spring setting seeing as me and my tiny wife camp on long trips with camping gear loaded . Sometimes when going fishing I strap on an inflatable boat . I've never had any rear shocks bottom out and hit the fender . Enjoy .

The Ikons are 13" long same as stock but the standard Ikon travel for Commando is 2" whereas the original shocks have 2.5" travel and I don't think there is any problem bottoming is there? So why not go for 2.5" travel. I know its available on special order. Black bodies with chrome springs are also available on special order.
