Anyone with stock 2.5" travel hagons could remove one shock, adjust the spring to the weakest setting,, bounce on it with two people on the seat and check for 3/4" clearance with a piece of clay.
I have a pair of 3" Ikons that should be in my hands in a couple of days. (My apologies to Mr. Schmidt for not purchasing from him....unaware...) I will attempt Jim's single shock test and report back. 1972 w/oil filter but 18" rims.
