Show was a great success. Gorgeous weather, about 400 bikes again, big swap area.
I've been going to this show since its third year, when about 81 bikes were entered. I've stopped having my bikes judged, entering them as DO (display only). The beauty of this show is the variety from well-cared-for daily riders to 99 point trailer queens. Oldest bike was a 1912 Abingdon King Dick. Best of show was a 1929 H-D model J. A half dozen veterans of the Cannonball were there. At least 10 Nortons, including a 16H, Inter-Manx, Atlas, P11, and a bunch of Commandos. Sunbeam, Matchless, Douglas, Velocette, Ariel, DOT, James, Greeves, BSA, Triumph, AJS, HRD/Vincent and that Abingdon King Dick represented the English. BMW was the featured marque, with over 40 bikes ranging from the 20s to today. For me, the most interesting bike in the show was a Junak 350 from Poland. According to the owner, this bike was the only Polish-made 4-stroke after WWII.
