Well I think I have finally sorted my bike after one year and £1350 later. Did 104 miles tonight, ran like a dream. Had it up to 80mph as still running rings in. This is the first proper run I've had on a Commando for about 14yrs and I remember now why it's the only road bike I needed when I was racing my TZ350. Great handling, torque, 4 speed box, the noise and (RGM reline m/cyl kit). No oil leaks either, one way breather seems to have performed miracles.

Manx GP in a months time.. :D :D

That is more than me yesterday evening. 98 mile round trip to Swanage with the missus on the back.
My poor modern bike is hardly being used now.

Must have been sunny in the UK, 2 guys riding their bikes for about 100 miles

Yes Jean. It was summer here yesterday!! It's going to be dry ALL WEEK as well.

In a spot of wild optimism last night I thought I might be able to get the Commando reliable and sell the R1200GS...

You guys are making me envious. Missed this year with a very sick small toe (long story) and the bike has done zero miles instead of its usual few thou. Was hoping to make some of the Sept events or even just to get out and ride but that may be wishful thinking. Enjoy the rest of our summer! and here's to 2012.
