100/100/100 Ride in 2022

Haven't heard back from Matt. I am able to use the kickstarter and she starts right up. So I will be going just where is the question.
Always up for a ride.
I expect GP has his plate full with the sale of his house and the move coming up.
Do plan on going to the show and swap meet in Fredericksburg TX next weekend.
Sold the RANCH, not the house. Done with the move-out phase, into a container & trailers out at the new place.

It looks like I'll be riding from Randall's Gas station (in Leander on Crystal Falls Pkwy, KSU 10AM) out to Burnet by way of 279 to Liberty Hill, then 29 to Burnet, lunch at Trailblazer's around 11 AM to beat the lunch crowd (my granddaughter is working there).

The ride back will be a quick loop out to Buchanan Dam, then back thru burnet to Ranch to Market 963, from there over to my new ranch just off 963 on CR 210B (around 1PM). We'll have a look around, cool off, then head home via 1174 down to Bertram, then 29 back to Liberty Hill, then 279 back to Leander around 2:30.

103 miles, about 2 hours of riding time + an hour and a half for lunch, and a half hour at the ranch.

No gas stops needed for me, as I'll be gassed up from the take-off point.

SO, BOTTOM LINE:

Meet-up to RIDE (with me) is Randall's on CFP in Leander, KSU 10AM.
Meet-up for LUNCH is Trailblazers in Burnet @ 11AM.

Anything else is up to which direction you are coming from, and how far you are willing to ride that day.

There is a perfect place to do the ton on arrow straight, virtually traffic-free, 963 between 1174 and CR 210B where we turn to go to the ranch.

Should be great weather...

PLAN B!!! Trailblazer's is closed on Sundays...

I'll be riding from Randall's Gas station (in Leander on Crystal Falls Pkwy, KSU 10AM) out to Burnet by way of 279 to Liberty Hill, then 29 to Burnet, lunch at Cafe Twenty-Three Hundred around 11 AM to beat the lunch crowd.

The ride back will be a quick loop out to Buchanan Dam, then a visit to the Hill Country Motorheads M/C Museum (about 1 hour), then back thru Burnet to Ranch to Market 963, from there over to my new ranch just off 963 on CR 210B (around 1PM). We'll have a look around, cool off, then head home via 1174 down to Bertram, then 29 back to Liberty Hill, then back to Leander through the back roads past my old ranch, putting us back at Randall's between 3:30 and 4:00.

109 miles, about 2 hours of riding time + an hour and a half for lunch, an hour at the museum, and a half hour at the ranch.

"HERE is an idea!
Meet up centrally on Saturday morning, ride, and then spend the night Saturday, ride some more Sunday, then everyone take off. It could be a 99/99/99/100/100/100 ride!!!"

So! .... I take it that the Saturday ride and Saturday evening dinner/layover is out. OK by me, but I think it would have been a nice addition for a group get together.

In the future, I suggest the nearest weekend to the 100th day be used as the event date ... easier to get participation on a weekend.

Slick

No, I'm not saying that's out - I had TOTALLY FORGOTTEN about that conversation!

My new place will not be useable yet, apart from primitive camping (about 100 gallons of Burnet City water mixed with rainwater) and a jobsite Porta-Potty. Plenty of room for bike parking and grass to pitch tents!

Most likely I will be working at the ranch that Saturday, but MIGHT be easily persuaded to meet up someplace not too far off my route (Leander - Bertram and north to the ranch)

It is with deep regret that I must announce that I cannot participate in the run. My magneto has lost its magnetic strength for the second time in as many years. I am getting a very weak spark. Even with starting fluid I can only get a pop or two.
I think it is time to replace the K2FC with a Joe Hunt. I hate to do it, as I consider the K2F a classic part of a classic motorcycle, but going modern has its advantages. I will be calling Jim Schmidt in the morning to order one. There is no way I can get the Joe Hunt and install it in time to make the run.

Sorry guys, hope to see you next year.

Sorry to hear that you are having magneto issues. Greg up in Washington has rebuilt several for me over the years. When he gets done it will throw a 1/2" spark.

BTW, I'm out too. By the end of the day it would be a 450 mile trip. Maybe I will do a local blast on my Interstate.

Heading to the meet-up point in 20 minutes...

Smoke 'em if you've got 'em!

We had a nice ride, just over 120 miles after all. The return route from the ranch changed a bit, adding a few extra miles, as did 2 missed turns! My friend Josh (Triumph Bonneville SE, BRITBIKE CONTENT!) and his Dad (Honda Shadow) joined us.

100th day of the year
Sally & me on the ZRX = WELL over 100 years old
We topped the ton on a long straight, a bit over 115 actually
I'm sure we made over 100 turns, possibly over 100 RIGHT turn, not including lefts
The wind speed felt like 100 most of the time, it was awfully gusty
Conversation over lunch was about movies, I think we mentioned over 100 movie titles
While we saw other bikers out, we DEFINITELY didn't see 100 of them

Cafe Twenty-three-Hundred, in Burnet, was very decent. Good menu, good fare, good pricing, and we beat the crowd quite nicely. In fact, WE HAD THE PLACE TO OURSELVES! On the way back past, there were at least 4 or 5 cars there.

2 new roads for me, 690 past lake Buchanan, and 2341 to get us back to 29. 44 MPG on the 'Rex, in the wind, with a passenger; not bad.

Anyway, it was fun, nobody injured, and all 3 bikes got home safely.

I rode my solo 100/100/100 ride on my Mark III. I'm 71, rode 105 miles and did 100MPH+ in the North Carolina Blue Ridge. I found that my GPS app maxes out at 100 MPH. Also it stopped updating after my second beer stop. First beer stop I found this perfect '67 Electa Glide. Never found the owner but wondered if he was doing the same thing I was. My Norton is parked in the distance.
