Here's the deal:

1. The ride takes place on the 100th day of the year (April 10th this year, a Thursday)

2. Age of rider plus bike must equal 100.

3. You must top the ton (100) at least once during the ride

4. You must ride at least 100 miles.

All fairly easy if you own a classic bike. Plenty of time to prep the bike if it needs work or has been sitting (it happens).

It is on a weekday, so if you work, you'd have to do the ride in the evening (not too hard).

There was a lot of discussion about variations to achieve the 100, such as 50 miles on the way to work then 50 miles on the way back home, or taking a pillion so that your ages would add up to 100, etc.

Whatever, it's just an idea.

There were a bunch of folks on various forums that did the ride last year and reported back with pix; that's part of the idea.

Our club is doing something a little different. We're calling it a Century Ride, but no requirement to do the ton. In Colorado that's instant loss of license, go straight to jail when the police catch you (and they will).

For our event, rider's age plus bike's age must be 100 or greater. I think the bikes have to be something like 1979 or earlier too, but I don't remember right now. 500 miles in two days. We haven't decided on the course yet but it will be spectacular! :D

Million Dollar Highway! The same route as the rally took, awesome ride.

Possibly. The idea is to do different routes each day. If we end up basing the event in that area then we probably will do that loop. Possibly go down into New Mexico on the other day. But it depends where we end up basing the ride.

Dang, kind of depressing to realize that my age and the age of my bike are over 100. 1975 +62 is like 101.
Seems like only yesterday I was looking at the shiny Red Commando on the dealrs show room and figuring out how I was going to come up with $1700. Oh well look on the bright side on 4/10/2014 I get to take a 100 mile ride.
