Still working to get all my front end parts ready to assemble. I have been polishing the yokes I got from NYC Norton with the 1" handlebar mounts to get them ready to install...or at least fit to the bike.

I took some pics of the 1" bars mounted in the yokes so everyone can see that they clamp up nice and it all looks pretty nice.

I'm really excited to get this all sorted and on the bike. It will be just a fitting to see how it all works because bike will be getting torn down over the winter for frame up restore.

Very nice

Thanks.

I'm excited to put the front end together. I have the Landsdowne dampers, full rebuild kit and just got a new stainless fender from Norvil. I've been waiting for all the parts to get here so I can put it together.

Parts should be plentiful. The 1" Bar Bonneville owners that I know are ditching their stuff to put on the 7/8" stuff. The modern Bonneville is the bike of choice in NYC at the moment. Everyone is customizing the hell out of them. I guess Triumph switched to 7/8" bars at some stage in the model years and the older owners dont want to be left behind style wise

Not sure I follow you here. Original Triumphs up until production stopped in the late 70's had 7/8" bars. This is true of all British bikes.

The new standard base Bonneville's still have 7/8" bars, while the T100 and America have 1" bars. The new Standard Bonneville is really an entry level Triumph so the switches, etc. are not the same quality as the T100 and America. I chose the 1" T100 controls in order to upgrade switches, master cylinder, etc., on the Norton while still staying with a look similar to original.

I had this option since I was changing to billet yokes and was able to get them machined to fit the 1" bars.

I'm not sure why anyone would want to switch 1" bars for 7/8" because there really is no difference in look and the 1" bars and switches are better quality.

The selection of British "style" switch gear for 7/8" bars is very limited in my opinion. Cost for replacement "Norton" style switch gear is really high and not very good quality from everything I have read.

I have a T100 and am thinking about going to 7/8".

No idea why they went to 1 inch. And on top of that mix them across the model line.

Why do you want 7/8" bars? Most modern bikes have 1"...I don't see the reasoning. The 1" bars look great on the T100...plus you'll have to change all the switch gear.

Most of the aftermarket products they desire are only made in 7/8. Not English style but more like Rizoma ,LSL,Spiegler, etc
