Corrosion without pitting is rare. If your fork tubes are just mildly pitted in the region swept by slider's upper bearing bush, I'd choose rechroming ("hard chroming").Thanks for info, now I have a dilemma, new ones or re-chrome ? Both options are the same price

Be sure to obtain a cost estimate before embarking on this route, and make sure your fork tubes are absolutely straight (perform the rolling test on a flat surface).
There are a few pitfalls associated re-chroming.

If fork tubes show noticeable pitting to a depth which requires grinding them, quality fork tubes as offered by AN would be my preferred alternative.
