Anyone have a line on the 06.0622 rubbers buffers used for the head steady, tank mounts and exhaust mounts. The ones from Andover Norton and all others I've found have the bolt part too long (at least on one side). They are about 0.56" and need to be around 0.4" max for the side that screws into the tank and about that for the exhaust nearest to the swingarm to keep from hitting the swingarm. Of course, they are fine for all the other locations. I've just been shortening them, but that is a PITA.

Just spotted this vintage post ahead of installing new rubbers.

I'd never have known.

Love this forum.

Just to be clear....

You're advising that the threads are too long just at the swingarm side of the ex brackets and the fuel tank, and not the HS?

Answered my own question by nipping & checking the originals on mine. ALL the originals are 10.5mm thread.

Now, where did I put my hacksaw

The upper exhaust mount threads sometimes need cutting down regardless (and maybe the nut as well if a Mk3 with the larger diameter swinging arm tubing) especially LH upper.

I've just come to remove the HS rubbers to find them seized in.

Attempts with the double nut technique have proven fruitless and I now have two half rubbers in both my hand and the frame.

Nothing's ever easy eh? ;)
