Math - Must have changed!

Same here.

I recently ordered 2 Starrett 0.002" x 12" feeler gauges on Amazon. $9.15 each.
The seller shipped only one in a bubble envelope which was folded over and flattened in shipping rendering the thing useless for my purpose.

Immediately initiated a return/refund which has not yet finalized.

Searched for the product by part number and found that Starrett themselves sell them cheaper. $6.70 each. After a $5 shipping charge I come out at $0.10 more than Amazon but I bought 4 instead of 2 so I feel like I came out ahead.

Plus Starrett made sure these things arrived in good shape!
www.mscdirect.com for all things machine shop related.

Month ago my son crashed and destroyed hand brake master cylinder + lever on the RDLC racer. When home unable to unload from the van singlehanded. Got one from Amazon in two days for $25. Problem solved.
Had I ordered from Aliexpress it had cost half and 3 weeks delivery.

My grandfather made this, or his father before that. He was born in 1891. I remember when my mom offered to get him some new rubber boots, this was in the 60’s, and he demanded that he get good boots from Sears and Roebucks, not the cheap boots made in JAP-an.
By the way, I’m sure the flail still works.
What do you do with this thing?

ISO9000 handles quality issues through mutual recognition of certificates. However the contents of Free Trade Agreements are often kept secret. To me - that demonstrates intent. The American industrial lobby groups wield a lot of power through the American National Standards Institute. Know when you are being swindled. I suggest that a lot of Asian companies have investment from American corporations. In Australia, it you want to make a product and sell it - you are almost forced to have it made in China. Most of our machine shops are run by idiots. There is a guy in our town who has the franchise for Japanese machining centres - he actually trains Americans. He has no interest in making anything. Most of my working life was spent in engineering-based defence factories. The best machine shop in our town, is the guy who fixes old car and tractor engines.

You are sheer and utterly clueless, on this topic.

A friend worked in a Swedish HGV (truck) factory. To explain ISO 9000 to the people who had to implement it.
He said that very few understand it even after training.
