If anyone is looking, I just fitted a pair of Heidenau K65s 100/90-19 front and rear. I like the feel much better than the Bridgestone BT46s. Even better that I dont have to over inflate the rear to avoid a squishy feel. FWIW
 
All depends on how they handle up in the tight twisties when cranked over hard, the Avon RR grip pretty good for a road going tyre, over 49 years I tried others from K81s to Metzler's, Avon and a few other brands over time but so far the RR seem to be what my Norton likes best and I also ran them on my old Triumph Thruxton with good results, so far running Metzler dual compound sports tyres my 1200 Thruxton with good grip and same life as the Avon RRs, was hoping to get more miles out of them but the torque of the big 1200 on the back can be a bit hard on tyres even with TC switched on, but long life tyre means less grip in the long term, I just like pushing all my bikes hard up in the tight twisties so need that grip when hanging right over to the edge of the tyres.
 
I spoke to Classic Tyres in the UK, as I too was looking for some Avon RR Mk2's. There will be new stock due in the Autumn.

From the recent Avon trade announcements that we receive, this is the case but the 100/90-19 is not among them. Our UK distributors that we deal with, all 3 three of them, have dates for certain size RR MK2 due back in stock but not the version we use. I have also emailed Avon directly this week and not heard anything back from them regarding the 100/90-19.
 
I've been using Shinko 10 SR 712 F 110/90 19 62H for the rear.
Very close to the Bridgstone Spitfire I was using before. Works well, reasonably priced and its available.

Can you indicate the published (or measured) tread depth new?
 
couldn't agree more on Shinko being a darn good tire- best rain tire I've had in 60 years of riding, have them on all my bikes.

My US Avon (Goodyear) contact told me earlier this year that they are scheduled to be made in for Dec 2025.

Correct but not the universal in 19'' The UK's 3 biggest tyre distributors do not have a date for this tyre, but do for other RR MK2 sizes that confirm with your Dec 2025 date (we have been told the same) There is rumour some will be made in Turkey and not France which maybe true as the French factory has been refurbished and modernised since tyre production shut down in the UK and it is a Dunlop factory, so I assume they will make their top end Dunlop tyres there. Also, though not confirmed, the factory may also be owned Sumitomo Tyre as they bought Dunlop from Goodyear in Jan 2025.

Not a rumor, the delay is because they will be made in Turkey, and the plant setup is taking longer than expected. My info comes from the US manager of our AVON tires who is a Goodyear employee. I certainly hope that the schedule he gave me holds and that the tires we need will become available at the end of the year.

Some can be found outside the US, but the US distributor (Turn 14) will not accept "old" date codes (If I remember right, their cutoff is 2 years). Most US sellers do not actually stock the tires - they are drop shipped from the distributor. That's why when they were available, several sellers would list the same number "in stock".

What tire are you using on the front, 100/90 19 of the same model? No issues with a "rear" tire in the "front"? And which direction did you mount the rear?
 
Whenever a tire is specified as "front" you should mount it backwards on the rear. I've been through a couple of these Shinko 10 SR 712 F 110/90 19 62H front tires on the rear with no issues. I still have a Bridgestone on the front. They have similar tread pattens. I use a 100/90 19 for the front. Presently I have an old Brigdestone spitfire on the front but a Shinko 10 SR 712 F 110/90 19 62H should do nicely.
 
What tire are you using on the front, 100/90 19 of the same model? No issues with a "rear" tire in the "front"? And which direction did you mount the rear?

I am running a Shinko 100/90 -19 57H on my front.
