Can you suggest the target gap between the gearshift pawl and the rachet plate

I took cover off my gearbox as the shifter seal was leaking. Before I reassemble, I thought to adjust the ratchet plate to gearshift pawl gap.
I have no shift problems but it never hurts to adjust
I am grateful for your suggestion.

As small as you can get it without touching on both sides. You may find that it does hurt to adjust! This is definitely a case of don't fix what's not broken :)
 
Just in case I mis-conveyed this, I am not asking for the gap measurement between the spring and the pawl, but the measurement between the pawl and the ratchet plate. Thanks

:confused: - Not adjustable. Must just miss when not engaged and must fully engage when engaged. Maybe I still don't understand. It sounds like to are talking about the relationship between 04.0024 and 04.0111.
 
As others have said if it's not broke and changing without any problems then leave well alone, end play and gaps seem to be built into Norton's from new.
