Gearbox/Transmission level screw/spill bolt

M10 x 1 x 10mm long
I will see where I got mine , but they are not like the factory plugs I prefer hex head . Norton UK will have these , if you want original .

Well, err, umm it’s a little embarrassing. Rode the bike to Phillip Island for the gp about 3,000km all up. Before I left decided to do a big service 30,000km chain and sprockets, Cush drive rubbers, oil change and change fluids in brakes and clutch. All went so good till the last thing, yep installing the frigging level bolt it started spinning, it wasn’t even tight. I haven’t tried to get it out yet. I thought I’d wait till I get the replacement. Any ideas on how to get the old one out. It’s not leaking so I could leave it till the next oil change.

What is stripped the hex hole or the threads ? If its just the hex hole is rounded , try using a expanding bit on it. Maybe press (pound) a larger allen bit into it ? If the threads are stripped , leave it alone for now ! Just drain and put in 1200cc of oil .
 
Ok, not unheard of.....the standard bung has quite a large waisted section, and the crankcase wall is quite thin on a few, so if a little overtightened what little threads there was just let's go....this was happening on Production, so I wouldn't feel embarrassed if its just happened to you. I don't touch them on service, just drain and refill by quantity.
