As the header says, is there a measurement for the standard head.

There was a recent thread discussing this that likely will help you. Within the last 2 weeks.

This thread concluded it is .120”.

But, it’s about 850s…

Hi Concours
Sorry read that about the 850, should have said so. I will measure the 750 head & see what I have. Maybe its the same! Birco casting. Just about to pack the parts of for aqua blasting & a look over by Peter at Seager Engineering.

I've not had reason to measure one. My 850 is just an old dumptruck engine.
I did remember reading that thread.
I didn't ask WHY, because many threads evolve that way & satiate my curiosity.
Good luck with your engine. 😎

I just went out and checked. I have a 750 head that has not been surfaced I've had since the late 1980's. It measures .120"-.123" (in some spots less) around the step. That said I'm using a cheap digital caliper and measuring it by hand it is easy to tilt the caliper enough to be off consistently. It is also possible that the machine work is not that precise. My surfaced head that I keep using for sentimental reasons measures .113"

I just measured my RH10 head with a depth micrometer and it came out to .123.

Thank you Dan
Mine reads a fraction less, so will get a skim. Unfortunately on the look out for another set of crankcases now!

Front crankcase stud, over the cam on the timing side. The whole piece has been welded, not a bad job but when you heat the case on the inside, it bubbles from under the weld. Cleaned it up & you can see a crack in the case. It also has a weld repair to the bottom of the case. Might be alright on the road but then again.
Just got the rear hub back (Triumph conical) from the welder. He's built up the sprocket mounts. It looks awful lol. Off to dress them back & try & get the sprocket mounting faces level.
Frames being coated this weekend. Telsport is making a new stem for the bottom yoke.
A fair bit of rob Peter to pay Paul is about to occur!
Namely my Mk3 Seeley it is also having a paint job frame tank & seat this summer, so I'm nicking the Commando Landsdowne forks from it. They are going to be replaced with Dommie length ones. Also I'm nicking the good race engine from the Rickman & hopefully this engine eventually will end up in it!

Hadn't thought of it that way? Rather I would like to run it at Donington in f750 "unsilenced" but time as always is running away.

Better to err on the side of caution Chris.

Can’t wait to see the fruits of your labour !

Been robbing my Mk 3 Weslake for parts I'm using on my Commando project Chris, but might still have some parts that of interest to you.

TBH I had started to get things listed, but then got "Diverted" again.

Just up the road from you BTW in Horsham.

Jan that would be wonderful. I will message you. Thanks Chris
