Ultra Plus 20w-50w oil

Has anyone used Ultra Plus 20w-50w full synthetic 4T engine oil in a norton commando. What are the pros and cons of this oil in a commando? With the price of other oils you can purchase five gallons of Ultra for $115.00 . Thanks Hershey
 
Yes Comstock tested a large number of oils for wear and friction heat specifically how they'd handle the flat tappet design of our engines. See the Technical Info section for his oil testing results. Some top performers were Valvoline VR1 (high zinc), BelRay EXP and RoyalPurple I believe.

The closest thing I can see is Resources.

Technical Information thread lives under the "Norton Commando Motorcycles" forum (ie this forum)....and is a sticky thread, second from the top of all threads. Within the T.I. thread, about 4 or 5 links down is the oil testing page link.

I do not think Ultra Plus oil was on Jim,s list of oils tested. Just Couris if anyone has used Ulta Plus oil.

It's a name myself and probably most here are not familiar with.

Looks impressive, A subsidiary of Fuchs, look a little further they do 'Private Branding.'
But their address doesn't match Ultrachem LLC (LLC = Limited Liability Corp., much different than Corp)

It's a post that is pinned to the uppermost list of posts like your own. The characteristic is that it benefits all so deserves easy access.

Its a thread that stays up near the top of the forum list of threads until an Admin removes its stickiness. When you first select this forum, Norton Commando Motorcycles, before going to other threads of interest, just look at the two top threads, both are stickies I believe. Second one is technical information and within it there are links to all the workshop, parts manuals, OldBritts tech notes and Mr C"s oil testing.

Okay - see it now
It isn't the way I navigate normally. I always click "New posts" and look from there, as I am interested in things other than just old Commandos - so I have never seen this before (you too @Fast Eddie ?)
Maybe Technical Information deserves its own spot under "Resources" @Jerry Doe , @L.A.B. ?

I guess the Tech Info pertains to our Commando bikes mainly, so less relevant to be under general site Resource tab.
