Hi
just love all the safety gear the riders are wearing.
interesting, today if riders were killed from a mechanical failure it would send the company bankrupt with litigation

Nice video, thanks for sharing.

Don't know what normal is but seems like a lot of testing.
Makes me wonder if all makes and models go through this?
ie, Kawasaki Z1 back in the day, or any modern ride.

Hi Matt,
I saw the Commando (later called Fastback), Commando R and a Commando S. Didn't notice an SS.

Ed
The red one looks like an N15CS rather than an “R”. AMC primary case and would have had an AMC frame….that one survived.

An N15CS would have Norton wheels and Roadholder forks - I am sticking with P11 Ranger, which would make sense if this was shot in 1969.

Hi Derek and David,
Can you point to time in video that you see P11 and or N15?

Thanks,
Ed

10:00, 10:30, 10:44 - The red bike - look closely at the primary, the battery cover, and the front wheel, also the exhausts are more up-swept than a Commando and different silencers (the R used the early Fastback exhaust IIRC)

Duplex frame too, though the rear light/number plate does look like the high pipe one...
That registration number has appeared on both high pipe and P11a at different times.

I’d say P11A, no striping on the tank and has the dual seat with white piping. Ranger would have gold striped tank and all black, flat seat. Of course it could be a mixed bag of P11A/Ranger bits.

He is jumping it at 11: 44 and later .
Has the pedestrian slicer fr. number plate .

Could actually be two or them , maybe .
testing also each of the other single top tube frames ?

I only said Ranger as it had no round badges on the tank, but then could have been a mule tank....

I remember seeing a Honda CBX rigged up on some kind of frame with the engine working and a mechanical gear changer as a kind of long term test, it was impressive , but not like actual road miles.
