Walking dogs..

With a very heavy heart today we said goodbye to our dear Hannah after a terrible accident. She spent all of her 13 years on our farm, save the first two months and the last half hour.

She was hugely loved and will be terribly missed by all of us, including her daughter.

Rest peacefully, dear friend.

Sad to hear my friend. Life on a farm is the best life she could have had.

So sorry for your loss, I’ve been there many times and it’s not an easy place. All of the good times will remain with you forever and can’t be removed.
peace Hannah, RIP.

What's the Johnny Cash song about a guy who dies and goes to heaven; "First, he located his dog."?

Yes , some of the dogs playing pool, some playing cards at the green table, smoking cigars and all having a good time there...

Winnie looks very comfortable in the shop! Lovely looking girl. Bet she’s spoiled to bits !!

You may have read elsewhere that I had a heart attack 3 weeks ago and spent a week in CCU. Well since I’ve been home miss Molly shown here has been almost surgically attached to my hip and won’t leave my side. 6yo Chocolate Labrador

She’s just making sure you’re you don’t leave her again! My dog Tyrion is attached to me also. We call them Velcro dogs. Can’t go to the bathroom without him hanging out watching. Wouldn’t have it any other way.

She knows you’re not well, she’s keeping an eye on you in case you need licking better…
She’s never far from my side - but very strangely she never licks. Put your head to hers and she turns away and has never made an attempt to lick anyone. It’s quite bizarre compared to my previous choccy Lab who would literally soak my head lick, lick, lick, licking all the time.

We’ve got two Ridgebacks at the moment, the older boy, Ned, has never been licky. Put you’re head near his and he stares deeply into your eyes, like he’s checking out your deep psychological thoughts!

The younger girl, Sockie, well she’s got a tongue like lightning and is VERY licky, put your head near hers at your own risk !

Well, we got a two year old that we rescued from the shelter, Jasper. He had been in the shelter about five weeks is quite the character and is settling in fairly well. He still has a bit of separation anxiety and wants to be around us at all times.

He and the older dog got off to a bit of the slow start, but once he started following her thru the woods and rabbiting, it was all on from there. He was a city dog, and spent most of his time indoors I think and is quite taken by having 14 acres to run in. I had to rescue him from next door last week as he had gone across the creek and came back on the wrong side of the fence. He came home stinking one day after rolling in half an old maggoty rabbit, and the stench would not come off after a good bath even.

He is a fetch dog.

I still miss our dear Hannah a ton.

Here's my 2 "exercise consciouses", albeit some months ago,
We don't see the first rays of sun until the last 10 minutes of our daily hour at the moment.

A great saying and aspiration: - "I wish to be the person my dogs think I am."

Well, I lost these two (nearly 15) a few months ago to age and heart disease (sisters from same litter) so have been slowly looking for a couple of new friends.
Will be meeting these two on Friday to see if we are compatible...
