As it should be. The motor never sounded broken to me.

Where did the previous owner have the vent plumbed up to? What breather are you using? Stock or did you plumb something else in?

The PO had the oil tank vent connected to the oiler…so my crankcase was venting…wherever it could.

Mine goes to atmosphere in a plastic prescription bottle with a fine mesh stainless steel screen for a rock filter. High tech shade tree engineering catch can. It works, but is not the best solution by a long shot. I think mtd-son came up with a custom solution that includes a chain oiler.

What would work is a side fed capped 1" tube 4 inches long with a small air filter on top and a drain on the bottom. That's what I would need anyway. I get a lot of froth if I ride much over 65mph for extended periods of time in cold weather. That oily froth would be nice on the chain IMO.
