  • Looks cool (pun intended). But who can see the filter on the Norton?
  • Placement of the oil filter on the Commando is pretty much out the of the direct slipstream - how much cooling benefit would there be?
  • For the cost of this filter I can by 9 or 10 standard filters from A-N. And yes, we can get into the quintessential debate on the effectiveness of a filter – but there have been numerous forums on that already.
  • BTW, about 50 years ago a friend installed a remote oil filter adopter that used toiler paper as the filter element. He swore by it. Considering the shortage of toilet paper during the early days of the pandemic in the USA it’s a good thing the toilet paper oil filters never caught on.

What the hell is that
Supposedly the best re usable oil filter around, s5 is the unit for ducatis with 16 mm thread .i thought someone on here might be using one. I have the opportunity to obtain one from a friend who sold his duke

Standard replaceable filters are 30 micron, this is 35 micron plus a magnet. You can stick a magnet to a standard filter and move it every filter change so there is no advantage.

Looks like a good filter set up to me and whilst it may not be mounted in brilliant air flow must surely increase heat dissipation.

If you’ve got the chance of a cheap one, I’d say try it.

One question, how exactly to you clean these things ?

Pretty easy ,push down ,turn, out she pops. Brake cleaner from the inside out. Cost me 50 ozzie bucks! This filter probably more aimed at racers

One thing that might worry some is that they according to FAQ has no drain back valve. So oil in the filter will go back through the scavenging pump to the crankcase. Adding some to your normal wetsumping.
