One could receive more accurate news from Josef Goebbels than any of our news sources I've come to believe. We no longer have reporting... I think of it as cheerleading to work the crowd up for one side or the other.

I take full responsibility for my smoking habit/addiction , surprisingly I still very much enjoy this activity ... guess when I started even my sport coaches where smokers in fact my hockey coach for 2 yrs used to fire up on the ice ... he still lives ! .... back to the media , bottom line in general media is in a “feeding frenzy” and seems they will print/broadcast/post , anything to get an edge on competition ....
People think smokers die from lung cancer, which is quite slow. However most smokers die from lung infections - pneumonia. If you smoke while coronavirus is around, you will probably get there a bit quicker than others. My friend is dying from lung cancer, so is on oxygen. If he gets a virus, he will be gone - opportunistic pneumonia will kill him.eddy merckx the greatest racing cyclist of alltime ...40 a day when he was simply unbeatable..
It is a problem knowing who to believeNot for me to say, especially in the UK.
It is up to you and your common sense to decide what and who to believe.
There is bias in all news sources. It is your responsibility to think critically and come to an informed conclusion using your own intellect.

Tornado, have you any information as to why some exposed people seem to present mild cold symptoms and others die? is it just that the Sars-cov-2 isn't converting to Covid-19?
Just to hazard a guess , it might depend on the viral load of the infected
person. If its a low 'dose' then the body's immune system might have a chance,or are you suggesting there is more than one virus sailing under a generic flag of convenience? Could be .
we had serious riots in Halifax when WWII ended , looting, public drinking of looted booze , naked women , fights , fires the works ! .... hope they have enough fore sight to dumb this down gradual when tide turns ... ‘bout all I can think on right now , when these strange days end and what be the “new normal” .... it been a moving target most of my life
SARS-COV-2 is the virus.
COrona VIrus Disease (COVID) is the disease it causes.
It's very hard to say why symptoms vary person to person (outside of underlying health conditions, etc..etc..) I'd be interested to know why as well.
Could be many reasons. Initial viral loading (high dosage vs limited) for example. Though that would mean second/third exposures to more virus should in principle give more severity...not sure that's been observed.Tornado, have you any information as to why some exposed people seem to present mild cold symptoms and others die? is it just that the Sars-cov-2 isn't converting to Covid-19?

I wouldn't know about that, but such a lot just doesn't add up. The Flu like symptoms are devaluing the seriousness of the virus and the wildly differing effects of the virus isn't helping.
I had a tx tonight from one of our directors stating that his brother got coronavirus and was struggling to get out of bed for 3 days with aches and pains, bad headaches and a temp, sounds like mild flu to me so I asked where he was tested. He wasn't, but is convinced he has had the virus and is getting better and that is being told as a fact. I cannot see this helping anyone to stay safe.
It would be good to have some definitive symptoms to go by.
