Primary belt drive

I’ve used the following and all were good:

Steve Maney: well made, well proven, raises the primary gearing slightly which is good for the gearbox.

Norvil: cheaper components, not as top drawer as the Maney kit, but very serviceable and low cost. Wide range of gearing available.

cNw: probably the only ‘up to date’ product in the market, very narrow but very strong belt, absolutely top drawer quality components and machining etc. Gives option for e start later if desired. Close to standard gearing.

Hi.
The kits are complete or you need to buy or change other parts?
Thank you.
Piero

Is enough to open some holes in the inner primary chaincase only so to hold the outer cover without other holes?
Ciao

I can not see that being a problem as long as it is not overdone, milled slots might be better.

Dear All,
thank you.
So sorry, but i have forgotten to say you that the bike has the Alton electric start on.
Is the belt compatible?
Thank you.

I have the Alton and a norvil belt drive
The belt is 30 mm wide (although you can use a 28mm)
And because I use an iwis starter chain the chain runs very close to the belt
I run my system dry ,not sure if the norvil belt can run in oil?

Dry except for a little that leaks in.

I’ve been running a unit 650 Triumph with that kind of belt. It breathes through the primary, but as I have removed all the chain tensioner mechanism, any oil in the primary drains back into the sump through the hole that’s normally used for the tensioner blade location. So the primary and clutch receive oil mist, but the belt and clutch isn’t in and oil bath. Seems to work well so far...
