Triumph Bobber / Speed Twin.

In another thread we are all baulking at a car engine in a bike frame. This one is just done more tastefully than Imp or Cortina engines, I mean....2.3 litre engine in a bike - OMG mad Max would be jealous.
Get pumping the iron and add some steroids if you want to hang on!

Edit: just had a look on the inter web out of interest - actually 2.5 litre engine but sadly all sold out :( :D
Only the TFC version is sold out. The other rocket 3 versions are available

There are also some Bud Ekins special edition T120 Bonnevilles - any interest?
1200cc so they won’t be slouches

I just looked up wheel base.

All in all, I don’t know what the hell I want lol.
My original plan was a two up bike.
- Something with up right bars.
- Seating for 2.
- Comfortable for up to 100 mile rides at a time.
- I don’t race bikes, but I want something that will pull strong when the desire arises.
- Something with nice quality race inspired components.
- Makes me happy when riding.
- Absolutely no Harley’s.
- British or Italian
- Under $30,000 USD

Practically speaking, were seating for 2 is concerned, the Speed Twin would work for you, but the Brutale and Ducati SF obviously have enormous HP.
The Italians have "seating for 2" also, but only if you enjoy torturing your passenger on a postage stamp sized pillion, with their knees positioned directly below their chins. These bikes have "sportbike style seating for 2".

I agree 100%

Best 2-up bike I've ever ridden - https://www.ducati.com/us/en/bikes/multistrada/multistrada-1260
And no, I don't think there is such a thing as a good looking 2-up bike

The Speed Twin seemed promising to me because of its relatively light weight and cast wheels (although I agree with comments about the Thruxton being a better looking bike) - and also because of its rave reviews. When I sat on the Speed Twin in the showroom it just didn't seem to gel with me though. It felt quite dinky and I was really surprised at just how high up the footpegs are and how hard the seat felt. Didn't feel to me like it would be comfortable going any distance, but I may be wrong.
Like fasteddie I also have this thing about Triumph shouting about being British and then making them in Thailand. If they made the perfect bike (for me at any rate) I could just be tempted though!

I felt the same way being 6'2". That's why I had hoped that the T120 seat would fit the Speed Twin, but I'm told that the frame mounts are different.
So I'm hoping Berton Bike bits will come out with a seat for the SpdTn like the DS003.
I have one on my Hinckley T100 and it adds height and distance between the foot pegs and seat position.
It's pretty comfortable, and also has a classic cool shape.

Wish a Speed Twin TFC was Available now.
You could spec one with all the extra bits they are willing to sell you!
Arrow exhausts
Fox rear shocks
Aluminium brake reservoirs
Black intake covers ......
Just add $$$$

Still not the same lol.

I’m sure a tfc Speed Twin will be Available soon.

I haven't seen the 2019 sales figures for the Speed Twin, but it appears to be a popular model, should have great sales figures.
Triumph normally introduce new versions when a model has very good sales.
Stay tuned.

They said the bobber was their best selling bike throughout the companies line up. I wasn’t aware of the bobber being that popular.

That surprised me as well. I like the styling from a classic/vintage point of view.
A see some of them in Manhattan - usually at hipster clubs.
The Bobber does resemble the type of design some use to build Rat Rod bikes - from old bike components.
May be that those who don't want to, or can't build their own, focus in on a new Bobber instead.
Better sales for Triumph mean a healthier company.

That kinda goes for all modern classic / retro bikes.
